BIOGRAPHY
Melanie is a science communicator and creator of Thinking Is Power—a twist on the phrase “knowledge is power”—that empowers people with the skills needed to navigate today’s complex information landscape. After nearly 20 years as a biology professor, Melanie now works with educators, organizations, and the public to promote science and critical thinking. She is the author of the book, A Field Guide to Misinformation, which provides practical tools for combating misinformation and explores why we fall for it. Melanie also serves as the Education Director for the Mental Immunity Project and CIRCE (Cognitive Immunology Research Collaborative) and is a Fellow of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.
